The seven touchdowns in one quarter was really just the tip of the iceberg for Neil Lomax at Portland State. In 1980, under the direction of Davis at Portland State (who competed at the NCAA Division II level at the time), QB Neil Lomax tossed seven TD passes in a 105-0 victory over Delaware State. However, one of the early adopters of the the Run-and-Shoot – Portland State head coach Mouse Davis – helped his quarterback set a record even more unbreakable than Andre Ware’s 517 passing yards in a half or David Klingler’s 11 touchdowns.
Several of the unbreakable records on this list came as a result of the Run-and-Shoot offense, specifically that that propelled Houston to offensive explosions unseen in the modern era of college football.
